Hike B (shorter hike from Hoyt Rd. west of Gaylordsville):Take Rt. 25 from Newtown to the Four Corners in Brookfield; go right on Rt. 7 and follow it for about 14 miles through New Milford into Gaylordsville; go left on Rt. 55 (at the Candy Store/Sweet shop) and follow it for three miles into New York; notice the Appalachian Trail parking lot just before the state line (but don't park there); take a left on Hoyt Rd. just after the state line and follow it for a half mile to the beginning of the trail. About 35 minutes.
