Troop 770 list of material to bring on Klondike- 2009
For everyone:
- Sleeping bag (rated to at lest below 0¼)
- Extra Blankets/liner to put around sleeping bag
- Sleeping pad
- Flashlight
If you are staying over:
- Clothing: wool/synthetic socks, thin nylon sock liners, long underwear (non-cotton), multiple layers of shirts/pants (cotton is OK for interior layers), waterproof snow pants, waterproof parka/heavy winter coat, hiking/snow boots, hat/ski mask/scarf, waterproof mittens/gloves (Note: bring extra socks in case they get wet/cold, and if you are staying over, bring a change of clothing for the morning).
- Hot Hands/Foot warmers (bring several, especially if you are staying over)
- Pocketknife (ONLY if you have your TotinÕ Chip, bring both)
- First-aid Kit (if you have a small, personal one)
- Water (1-2 should be fine for during the day, 3+ if you are staying over)
- Compass
- Mess Kit or disposable plates/utensils
- Scout book
- Trail Mix/energy Bars
- Flint and Steel/Magnesium Fire Starter (ONLY if you already have one)
- Scout neckerchief (to be used as blindfold)
